Author Topic: MoonOS - Linux Distro That Looks Like a Mac  (Read 2924 times)

It's an Ubuntu variant that runs very well on most PCs.  It feels stylish and snappy like a Mac but you can actually do things useful with it.

I like Ubuntu, but it's programs and installing them I don't like.

I thought you got your Windows fixed?

I thought you got your Windows fixed?
Yes.
Thanks to Ubuntu. <3

What's wrong with Ubuntu?

It's the beginners' distro and is generally frowned upon by the experienced Linux community.

Arch and Gentoo represent :U

Wait what
Is this only for 32 bit?
and why is there no english download or whatever.
If I don't like it, can I change back?

I used to use Arch, I just find Ubuntu easier.  And if it's frowned upon, why don't I see people besides you guys bashing it?

You can.
There's no English one because it's a new distro, give it some time.  Oh, and 64 bit IS available in MoonOS 3.

Arch and Gentoo, I would say, also count as "beginner distributions" of Linux. Try using something fully Free and Open Source, aka Trisquel or gNewSense.

Arch and Gentoo are mostly free, but contain proprietary elements. True Linux users go for 100% freedom, and grow Richard Stallman neckbeards while doing so.

Tom

Ubuntu is just something people install to make themselves look more tech savvy.

Gentoo

Because Ubuntu is the only distro that the Blockland forums seems to ever use, and like Tom said, just to seem cool, basically. If you went somewhere that wasn't here or the Ubuntu Forums you will find that people who use Ubuntu who aren't new to linux aren't treated quite the same.
