 Apple always just updates their stuff and people just keep on buying it...

Get the 2G if you only want to listen to music and play some games, for more gamer worthy, get 3G+.

I highly advise jailbreaking, you can do tons more.  and if anything goes wrong you can restore from itunes.  If the screen cracks, just restore it from iTunes and send it in.  They can't tell it's been jailbroken (but they can tell it's broken, derp.)

Meh, I've had mine for 2 years, not really worth it. Just get music on your phone/ get a phone and get music for it.

I have a 4G, it's awesome. I did jailbreak it, but Frash doesn't like the Touch 4G, which getting some version of Flash on it was the whole point of jailbreaking.

It's because of all the useless stuff it comes with. If iTunes alone was a program and didn't force you to have QuickTime, Apple Software Update and Bonjour (along with other stuff I'm sure), it'd actually be an okay program.

I hate bloatware, and iTunes is the very definition of it.

You need Quicktime for TF2 rendering, so that's not bad.  Apple software update is half-standard for most software like that.  Except for the fact taht it tells you to install other software.  I dunno what bonjour does.

iPod touch is completely worth purchasing in my opinion, I have one and I simply adore it.
