Problem with Steam

Alright, so you guys know about that update that steam just had, correct?

Well, I go to update it, and all of it's stuff gets dumped on my desktop. I moved steam over to my new 1Tb HDD, since the other one is small, and when it updates, it downloads the entire damn thing - onto my desktop.

How do I fix this?

I dont know but it didnt do that with my steam client.

Oh wait, nvm, figured it out.

It turns out the application for steam I clicked on was a remnant from my old HDD.
