Author Topic: Has this happened to anybody before going to sleep?  (Read 3154 times)

Sometimes, when i'm in bed and i'm about to go sleep, my vision flashes, i hear something loud like lightning, and i suddenly get startled and i shake for half a second, and it's not lightning or anything, nothing happened around me, it was just me imagining it.
I've had it happen for a long time, since 2007 or so.

I've heard noises in my head I never heard before and big flashes of light shine in my head. I also shake or get startled as well.

Or sometimes I am about to fall asleep when I don't want to sleep my mind wakes myself up by 'shocking' myself. (Only way I can describe it).

sometimes I twitch for no apparent reason, and it's not only when I try to go to sleep

it keeps happening

Looked it up, some other people said to have had it.
It's pretty weird though, it scares me from going back to sleep for a few minutes until i'm confident enough.

Here I thought I was unique! I guess I am not getting super powers.

Mine's a flash, which shocks me awake.

I won't be able to sleep for a while after that.

It's like I'm about to dream and I'm suddenly kicked out of it.

sometimes i begin to dream that i am falling over so vividly that i switch into survival mode and twitch to adjust balance, waking myself up in the process.l

TheWorm told me about a year ago about exploding head syndrome. I don't know if he was joking or not but he seemed pretty serious--it's when you hear a noise so loud you think your head explodes, but it's not really.. well. real. There's no determination whether or not it's a physical or mental thing causing the 'explosion,' so it's not a really well documented thing.

Well since OP isn't a woman over fifty I doubt that's what it is.

When I'm laying in bed, I remember my past days and how painful (physically) they were, and then suddenly it feels like I got hurt in the same place I did in the morning.

Kind of hard to explain.

Well, quite some years ago i knew when nightmares where about to hit me.
I would see my room as if there was a lightsource nearby and i would feel very stiff.
I couldn't move at all, the only way to stop this was to think of good things.
Fun things and that.
Then i would get out of that creepy thing and not get a nightmare, otherwise i would get one.

Really weird.
Don't have it anymore though.
The dreams i had years ago were sometimes weirder and creepier but mostly a lot more awesome then those i have now.
If i have any. :S
