What in the world is dubstep?

What in the world is dubstep?
Do you happen to live in a cave?

Do you happen to live in a cave?
No, I live in a valley.

Quote from: Wikipedia
Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in south London, United Kingdom. Its overall sound has been described as "tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocals"

Basically the most obvious characteristic of Dubstep is the bass with a LFO; a 'wobble,' and usually distortion, paired with a breakbeat.

I like it.
However at some parts it sounds a little grainy or w/e.

Put it on youtube. :D

Haha thank you very much. The grainy parts are intended to be as such. :]
I would but I'm too lazy haha

What did you use to make it?

haha no one's going to download that song if you don't put it on youtube because we're also too lazy.

Gooooood point...

Also, FL Studio 10 is the DAW.

Wub Wub Suck My richard
This Noise

I like on the first video (WWSMD) the part at 0:35 where the "wub wub wub" starts.  After that, it sounds like any other dubstep song.

The second one (This Noise), in my opinion, a lot better than the first one.  Some parts of it do sound like there was something being played backwards, which is a nice effect.

Well, not to piss anyone off, but if you're telling me that both of those songs sound different.. Yet the first one sounds like 'any other dubstep song..' It seems like you've contradicted yourself. Thanks for the compliment about my synths and their increased attack time, lol. I thought it sounded nice too.
Also, what specifically makes it sound so 'similar?'

Dubstep is a dumb new genre and almost as bad as rap.
Did you use FL Studios or something for this because people in my class started doing this.
