Just make sure that you don't let him add any content that you wouldn't want him too see.  if he is still young enough where you can censor things for him without him going behind your back then you're set. And if hes a little older, just check the addons tab periodically for inappropriate content.  Also play LAN games with him but do not let him play on the internet unless you trust his judgment and think he will leave if he notices something inappropriate. And for the love of God do not let him on this forum unless you are watching what he is looking at!

So yeah this game is would be rated E, but you can't really control the content that people post online, so as long as he just sticks to single player, or your with him while he plays online, it should be fine.

I didnt even read the replies to the original post after having read it. Im just going to say what my pinion says. My opinion says, "kiLL! KI--" nvm that. it says "....if you dont like something because you find it inappropriate for children, keep your kid from seeing it. No matter who it is intended for, it is YOUR damned kid, and if you dont like them witnessing eventual reality, then censor it yourself, damn it. Do you have selfcontrol? Are you a a big boy/girl? huh? if the answer is yes, then you ahve enough control to control your own relations, not put the problem on someone else. Whether BL is becoming more or less kid-appropriate due to constantly added contant, if you dont like it, turn it off. Make the kid study. Or, just find something more productive for them. dont be a idiot about it." And, also, in my sane side of my brain, if you were just asking a question and not complaining, then id say that BL is as kid-friendly as it was in the beginning.    :)

and as for the build thing, i do have to admit some people on this game do have a sick sence of humopr like that, but the majority of players i know do not... however monitering is good

How many bricks can you go up to before you lag on your Laptop?

i would say that badspot NEEDS a client-side swear filter like the r word's (runescape)

A client side swear filter would solve alot of problems, because you would no longer have to rely on individual servers to filter swears.

If you're concerned about the chat, you can disable it in the "Advanced" tab of the Options dialog ( Set "Chat Line Time Milliseconds" to 0)

I don't think that genitalia made of bricks is that much of a problem.  Really, how explicit can you get with bricks?  I suppose you could do a pretty decent job if you worked at it, but I have yet to see anyone put in that much effort.  I would say that Blockland is as safe or safer than any online game that allows people to host their own servers.  It is safer than using instant messenger or myspace.
