Star Trek is a multimedia powerhouse that not only entertains, but can also illicit much thought about personal conflict or comment on social events of the time. This genre also teaches acceptance and the value of a plethora of ideas. We welcome everyone, even scrubs left out by the snooty Star Wars Page. (Yes, you too are welcome here Captain Blue) I know I borrowed his format for my thread, but it was well organized, so I felt it would help with the friendly rival thread.

So feel free to discuss things you love about this genre, things you don't (and if you do, please make it constructive, not the usual trolling responses. Please be descriptive.) and what you would like to see happen in the future of this wonderful future.

billy madison:
while star trek is a very good show, i must say that star wars is better.

lol figures you'd be the first to comment :P

I enjoy both genres. I just felt there should be a thread based on both shows.

Only movie I saw was The Search for Spock, was pretty good actually.

Bought Season 1 & 2 of ToS a few months ago and I've been hooked ever since.

I felt they all had their endearing traits, but the odd movies were always reputed to not be as good as the even numbered ones.

tng > classic > dsn > voyager >>>>>>>>> enterprise lol

>star trek
>star wars
why are those two near each other, DO YOU KNOW WHAT COULD HAPPEN IF THEY GET TOO CLOSE?

I enjoyed II through VI equally. Well, maybe V was a little eh with the whole insane brother thing. Also, TMP had an odd, depressing atmosphere.

Especially after I learned about Ilia's actress, Persis Khambatta, dying. :(

Every time Star Trek would come on I would listen to the calm intro and soothing music.
Actually they are on right now where they must save two whales and bring them to the future to repopulate the Earth. Then there was a next one after that.
Sadly I have essays to write.

Marathons running pretty much all weekend on SyFy channel. I'm sure you can find some time :)

TNG is my favorite. :D
