i figure that "coupe" raises some big warning bells with insurance, since coupes tend to also be sporty, fast-ish cars.

Yeah exactly. That's why I wasn't sure about it in the first place.

I don't think what kind of car it is really matter for insurance when it's that old.
also, they might charge more for an older car, as they're less safe. probably won't charge that much more until you're getting into cars that are 30+ years old, though. afaik, a volvo gets lower insurance rates than say, a suzuki because they're safer.

I have my test tomorrow.

Only thing worrying me is parallel parking. D:

oh wow
the OPs cars are just
wow

Most American cars like that Taurus look like they have either melted, or were designed in 1950 to be futuristic, and that's their idea of a space shuttle car thing.

i top it off with another pilsnercar (i posted some earlier), i'd say its pretty much a mix of rockabilly and rat style.

e-maxx, those body styles are uglier than stuff.

do you guys have so if you're car 30+ years old you don't have to pay car taxes in america?

Car taxes how? Like if you buy one from a dealer or something?

according to wikipedia this is what im talking about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_excise_duty

in sweden, if your car is over 30 years old and you're not using it for a business (like delivering pizzas, i think?) your car is not taxable

As far as I know the US has nothing like that. You buy a car and make payments for it and pay for insurance and that's it. Doesn't matter the age or anything, however you have to pay to keep tags on it and everything.
