my car has a gap in the rubber seal around the headlight, and there's condensation in the assembly. it's a colossal pain in the ass to fix.

Yeah I was thinking that if it is the seal that wouldn't be cool. I just went on my first trip thing on a pointless trip to Runnings to see if I can get a spare key made (the guy said they didn't have that one particular year, go figure) then to McDonalds to NAPA for a tail light bulb (which still doesn't work, might be because Im stupid or because the contact sucks) and then put $20 of gas in... during this period the ABS light went on (then back off?) And the check engine light went on (and is remaining on) but Im hoping its just because I put gas in it and its not an actual problem.

Anyway. :D

check engine light will come on if any sort of system in the engine temporarily turns off, or if the gas cap is not fully screwed on on some cars. when my car's power steering looses power, the engine light comes on. you might have a sensor problem in the gas cap, and the abs might be thinking that you're loosing traction when you're braking.

I Googled the ABS light and apparently it's not really a big deal so honestly I'm not concerned about it especially since it wasn't on very long, it came on when I was going up a little hill if that has anything to do with it. I remember my step dad seeing his Check Engine light go on whenever he forgot to put the cap back on so I really think that is the issue... hoping, anyway, if it's something bigger, someone's going to die.

That's actually kinda neat.

Check engine went off, got some headlight cleaner and another brake light bulb which I still have to check so so far so good.

take a piss in the backseat to mark your territory
that way nobody will steal it
