Yesterday, I visited Hydralisk's TDM, the one where the marines battle his alien playertype. Fairly simple, but fine.
I'd like to also tell that the server was a TDM, not a RP, just for future reference and he reinforced the fact that the game was a TDM.
I've always wondered why a few of my friends wanted Hydralisk out of certain servers and why some people generally don't like him.
In the first picture, I am on the Marines, and a friend talks to me via another IRC, and I head to his leader-given sentry, which he sometimes uses for protection, for safety while spending a few seconds to reply. I come back and I get this:
Immediately I get off the sentry. He's still all hurt about it and seems to have established that I am his enemy and idiot.
Makes a few of his friends angry also.
After a while of no speech between us, I was kicked about five minutes after the dispute. I was kicked around these lines of chat.
Basically, my theory is that after he asked "who's AFK and needs to be kicked?", I incorrectly responded Macgyver, who was sitting as an alien in the horizon in plain sight, but was not afk and was acting "sneaky", making Hydralisk feel that I tried to fool him into kicking someone that "I don't like".
What he should have done would probably be this:
- Create some sort of rule saying that you can't go near his sentry (although most TDMs don't even need to have many real said rules that are related to gameplay, except for griefing, potential flaws in the build or server in general that allow you to get unfair advantages like getting out of the map, and even so, many don't need the latter)
- Give warnings
What he did:
- Act rather unpleasant
- Kick (Still seems odd for five minutes after he got mad)
I have viewed a few of his dramas via searching, a few unpleasant and poor results including two bans, but they are a little over one and a half years old.
This is one of the more recent which I have found: It is directed at another member but shows what Hydralisk may act like.
