Author Topic: E. coli bacteria - We're going to loving DIE  (Read 1622 times)

Up until now there's been fifteen deaths in Germany and one in Sweden. Five countries in Europe are affected by the bacteria. Worst part is, first they thought the bacteria resided in Spanish cucumbers but now German experiments say that that's not the case. It could be residing in anything. Milk, tomatoes, cucumbers and who knows what else.

tl;dr - We're going to die. Whether from not eating to avoid being infected or from being infected. D:

Let's see, Swine Flu, SARS, ect.

Something else to worry about. Everyone gets their underwear/panties into a twist over this stuff.

Well it's a good thing mankind isn't prone to panic about every single possible threat!

CUCUMBERS ARE GOING TO KILL US

BURN THEM ALL

So it's already in us? Lol
Virulent strains of E. coli can cause gastroenteritis, urinary tract infections, and neonatal meningitis. In rarer cases, virulent strains are also responsible for haemolytic-uremic syndrome, peritonitis, mastitis, septicaemia and Gram-negative pneumonia.[24] /wiki

Wow, fifteen deaths. There's only 80 million people in Germany, too.

I'm telling ya
It can spreaaaaad

Optimal growth of E. coli occurs at 37°C (98.6°F). This is why it is so dangerous for humans, because that there is our body temperature.

HOWEVER: E. coli is usually caused by eating unwashed vegetables or undercooked meat. If you cook your food, you should be fine. I seldomly eat cold food, so I'm going to be fine.
