Author Topic: If you have a cat, and give it catnip.....  (Read 1184 times)

My chubby kitteh, Buddy boy acts like a guy with Heroin Withdrawl. Rolls around, purrs, and once, opened a sealed container of Catnip, just for more.

What a Catnip Addict he is...

If you never gave your cat some Catnip, here's what you'll need:

1 new Scratching box
1 container of catnip

Place the Scratching box anywhere, but it must be away from furniture like Sofas and Leather chairs. Grab a pinch of Catnip, and place it where your cat will easily smell it. Move away for 2-4 minutes, and look what your cat is doing!!!!

Your cat may do one or more of the following things:

Sleeping on the box, Act like a drunk guy, Roll around, Purr, Eat the catnip, Scratch the box, Spaz out after on the box, or maybe all of this stuff.

my cats go batstuff for catnip. my orange one will get dragged around, hanging by it's teeth from it.

I buy catnip for my cat regularly. I do it so much, that if I stop, she flips the forget out.
Like literally, scratching and crying. Some serious withdrawal. :o

He climbs up walls and eats my sofa.

I remember the first time I bought catnip for my cat, she was about 8 months old. After I showed it to her she got extremely interested and started rolling around in it and wouldn't pay attention to anything else besides the catnip the entire day. But now when I give it to her she's completely indifferent to it and would rather have a treat than a gram of catnip.

That's where Wikipedia comes in.

Well, Sometimes. I haven't tried wiki-ing blue waffle.

Catnip is a kind of plant that's kind of like a un-damaging drug for cats, and it kinda makes them just lie down and roll around and stuff.

and it's not weed.

For cats you say?

And who's to say otherwise?

doesn't affect humans.

cats are not genetically identical to us, therefore they are more susceptible to different things.

My cats are honestly not affected by or interested in catnip at all.

We got them some catnip toys a while back and they wouldn't touch the things.

Cats on Valerian are like sqiud attraction to light.

My cat isn't as excited as he used to be for catnip and laser pointers.  He must be getting old :(
