thank god we have so many lawyers in this comunity

It might be a joke, but it still is pretty bad in terms of legal issues.

could you walk up to someone and shoot them in the stomach and while they're writhing around dying, say "HAHAHAH IT WAS A JOKE I TAKE IT BACK"?

if they honestly think that that's funny, they should get the forget out. if they were joking kalphiter why did they have another few add-ons in the page? oh, to make it more realistic? well, that's another few creators you're gonna piss off.

good job guys
You sir are a saint.

Technically Badspot owns all the rights, I believe, even still, no one copyrights their add-ons, obviously.
I think he only owns the rights to stuff you make in-game (as in, models and builds) or possibly stuff that you publish on the forums. Besides, it's illegal (as in, it doesn't have any effect) to give away your copyrights on something in certain countries, like Sweden for example.
Also, copyright is completely automatic and you DON'T have to do something yourself. Also, AFAIK, it defaults to ARR (All Rights Reserved).

This isn't just drama, this is legal stuff.

To my knowledge, all add-ons are under the GNU license, which means that they don't really have a sole copyright holder but it's still illegal to sell it.
Nope.
First of all, I've never ever even saw a blockland add-on under a specific license, except for RTB (which is under the CC-BY-NC-ND UK 2.0 license).
Secondly, it IS legal to sell GPL-licensed stuff, even without permission from the copyright holder, as long as you distribute the source code too (which is not a concern for interpreted languages like TS). That is even officially encouraged by GNU.

He wouldn't stop pestering me over MSN for Jookia's scripts he gave me years ago, which I never touch. Then he stuffs them in there after I give them to him to quiet him? They didn't even work right, or something.

Good marketing plan!

That would be the only way to get DRPG after all.

Something that lots of people love yet how broken and flawed it is.

Yet again, I give into his pestering.

Quote from: MSN

You want it to fix? As I said, Jookia gave me it years ago packed with his other stuff and I never touched it. Didn't even realize it had any value.

Excuse me. I gave Brian Smith the current version that he has, and from what I know, it's fully up-to-date.

How Jookia even has it and why anyone still communicates with him, no idea.

Blaming the consumer is such a bad way to approach someone illegally selling goods.

Yeah, you're right.  Consumers of illegally sold goods never get charged with any wrong-doing in reality.

Oh wait, yes they do.

When did you give him it? He bothered me for hours day after day "Give me them!" etc. I should kill him.

Also, again:

...As I said, Jookia gave me it years ago packed...

He gave it to me like two years ago. Meh.

Brian_Smith?
I expected better.

But then again if this is a joke...

Don't need to be a lawyer to understand mainstream aspects of the law. This is black and white; you can't sell something you don't own.

You can if you have permission from the copyright holder.

Which obviously he doesn't.

Nowhere near, I'm afraid. Blockland is proprietary software. If it was under the GNU GPL, you technically could sell it, just as long as it remains open source and under the same license. In this case, the license to Blockland states something somewhere around the lines of "All derivative works are owned by Blockland", meaning that technically anything you made isn't even yours. So it is quite illegal against the licensing terms.

Though I might be horribly wrong on this, but I'm positive that Blockland is anything but/related to being GPL'd. That much I do know.

Secondly, it IS legal to sell GPL-licensed stuff, even without permission from the copyright holder, as long as you distribute the source code too (which is not a concern for interpreted languages like TS). That is even officially encouraged by GNU.

...and here I thought I was like the only one who actually knew about GNU stuff. Good to know I'm not.

Excuse me. I gave Brian Smith the current version that he has, and from what I know, it's fully up-to-date.
why? he has no idea how to use any of the mods given to him
