Author Topic: How to make a speaker operate in Blockland  (Read 977 times)

So idk how I came across this but I discovered how to make a speaker look like it works and is playing music.  This can be toggled to make the music start/stop.

So first what I did was make a print brick.  I like using the 1x4x4 Print brick because you can see the speaker the best.  Then , depending on how fast you want the speaker to fluctuate, paint the brick a certain grayscale color.  I like using a middle ranged gray.  After that, paint it with the blink FX color, this will supply it with the movement.  Then, put the black traffic light print on the brick, black looks most realistic but the other colors work too.  Boom, now you have a functioning speaker to go with all of your speaker needy builds.  Just add some toggleable music and toggleable blink paint and your set.

Happy speakering.

Commenting telling you I hate this

This thread is entirely unnecessary. This barely teaches anything, and none of this is descriptive at all. This is the most pointless thread I've read, and worse than the Gallery and Add-Ons posts without pictures/links, saying it's coming soon.

commenting to tell you I reported this 'i don't care' post.

This is a really good idea by the way, although I must admit, pictures would be nice.

Well you do realize that the speaker moves and therefor cannot be expressed in a picture
I got you, for steps of making it?

You're trying to tell us how to build something that looks like a speaker, but the title is telling you how to make one operate. Those are two different things. What you're talking about sounds like it would appear far too simple and unrealistic, like something you'd find in a 1x1x5 house. Besides that, people could figure out their own ways for something so simple. Your guide doesn't help us.

And "Traffic Light Print" is from an Add-On, isn't it? If so, you aren't linking to it nor will that help a client. Otherwise, get the exact name...

doesn't that only apply to drama?

It applies to every board, but only when directed at the OP.

Dude stfu.  The design I figured out was just an easy way to make a speaker.  I don't care if it does or does not benefit you at all but there are some people who this would help.  I'm not trying to make this a huge project of explaining and showing how to make it.  I posted this when I was bore with homework and just wanted to screw aroun on my iPod.  And this would not necessarily go in a 5 height house, I used two of them stacked to make a home theatre.  It looks like a legit speaker.  Why go through the trouble of saying stuff that is unwanted?
