It's likely your GPU went kablooie.

Never done that, how do I do it

How do I check my GPU? I don't get any errors telling me anything about it

if you know what GPU you have just google [whatever GPU]  drivers


if not, start > run > dxdiag

click "display"

find your GPU, then follow above

My desktop has this issue, drivers do not help.
Sound gets borked and i have to reinstall windows as an added bonus.

It won't screw it up anymore than it already is.
You want the drivers, Catalyst Control Center helps to modify/setup graphic displays/etc.

so yeah, go with that.

Oh my god, my computer went all apestuff and now the resolution is terrible and my toolbar is the default colour.
