Author Topic: Virus related to a security flaw?  (Read 748 times)

Today, at 5:19 pm a virus installed its self onto our computer. Coincidentally, at 4:56pm several of mctwists rp addons were downloaded off of RTB Mod Manager (The

most recent thing that we know of to download on the computer). Our comptuer requires and administrator password in order for software to be downloaded through

the internet, thus eliminating the source of the virus to be likely from blockland, which has already been made an exception. Is it possible that a virus ether inderectly

downloaded its self through a security flaw related to the RTB Mod Manager, or even more unlikely from mctwists addons? The virus has already been removed

thankfully due to anti virus software.

Any response from anyone who knows what they are talking about would be appreciated.

Did you type this in notepad and copy+paste

it here? What the hell is

with the double-spacing and

the awkward word-wrap?

Double spacing is easier to read?

Double spacing is easier to read?
No, its annoying to read.

Tom

EXTREMELY unlikely.

Fixed. c:

Double spacing is easier to read?
Cutting it off in the middle of a sentence to leave an empty line after it doesn't make it easier to read.

Come on guys, a whole topic about my grammer and spelling errors doesn't solve the problem lol. What I'm wanting to know, is if its possible for a virus to come onto my computer through a security flaw via rtb/blockland. I my self doubt it,  but my dad who has a phd in physics and works as a software developer believes this is the case.

Your father is stupid.

onto my computer through a security flaw
Only possible if a hacker already knew your IP.
This could happen while browsing to any site if this is the case.

no, it's not. someone in your family opened some infected website, most likely research. what i think is your dad decided to fap to some bad research and is covering it up by pinning the virus on a secure addon you downloaded.

One probley with your perverted theory, we were on the computer for the whole day playing on blockland, my sibilings and I. I'm just going to lock this topic and instead send a pm to badspot.
