Title says it all. Basically, I just got bored and decided to redownload it. I uses to play it, but I got frusturated because Porto and Lub kept trolling me and throwing/killing me everywhere I went, so. Yeah. I'm playing again. You all need to get your asses on.
Stupid ass game doesnt wanna work for me. I understand it's old but.. :c

Perhaps if you added details about your problem and posted the contents of console.log here we can help you.

I open AoT and it gives me 3 error prompts saying "Hardware failed to switch to the specified mode.", and then AoT crashes.

Go to wherever you installed AoT (Probably your program files inside a folder called AgeOfTime), and find the file "console.log." Open it and copy the contents into a message here.

Have you tried updating your gpu drivers and updating your opengl drivers?

Since I've found drivers for Windows 98 First Edition on the driver page, I'd say that card is pretty old.

If UAC is enabled, this is your problem.
Somehow Vista doesn't like fullscreen (in some cases) for AoT, I've tried starting it up many times, to no avail.
What you do, is you go into your AoT installation folder (If it's in C:\Program Files, move it to C:\ before doing the following,) Open up the 'base' folder, then the 'client' folder. Now open prefs.cs with Notepad and change the following:

$pref::Video::fullScreen = "1";Change that 1 into a 0, save the file, and try opening it again. (Make sure it's on the C:\ directory)
