Author Topic: Xenomorph face  (Read 9347 times)

A Xenomorph face that i made.
Not as good as it could be; all it is, is a rescaled orc face with some changes. Although it looks pretty good to me. This is my first working addon and I'm pretty happy with it.
It is mainly meant for me and walla's "AVM" (Aliens Versus Marines).
Please no flaming and give comments... that dosnt mean flaming!.

Here is the file:

and then a screenie of the face
Note it is not pitch black ingame.

it's very blurry. i would recommend a couple things.

first thing you should do is make it a 512px x 512px vector.
Vectors will prevent the nasty blurs. and give you an overal better face.

try inkspace.

if you wanted the blur, then i would blur it less. you're going to get white clipping around the decal itself.
props to the symmetry,  but it still needs some work.

keep it up

I really cant do crap and i was using gimp... I'm really quite horrible at decals and faces...
Although I have made some helmet and space suit decals on photoshop that looked pretty good.
Ill get those up soon enough.

try throwing them up into the modification discussion section. that way you can get some feedback from people prior to releasing it. I mean, granted, most of the comments will be really dumb like "inb4flame" or "this is crap GTFO" so you'll need to weed through them to find some good feedback. don't get discouraged and keep trying!

and if you have photoshop, i'd use that over gimp. although it has alot to do with preference, Photoshop is a much more powerful program. if you want to dive a little deeper into Photoshop a great place to look for tutorials is the tuts plus network

(Photoshop Tutorials)

learning how to play nice with the pen tool will give you some very pretty results in the end.

Happy designing.

its teeth
Its a xenomorph face... ever seen the movie "Alien" or "Aliens" or "Alien3" or "Alien Resurrection" or "AVP" or "AVPR"?  :cookieMonster:

Thanks for the tip. The main reason i don't use Photoshop is because we only have it on one computer... and we don't want to buy 2 every time theres an update...

Also... when you flamers out there get to this and start criticizing.. then make one yourself lets see how you do! (and put it up for download)

At least some people on the forums aren't complete starfishs.....

1. it needs to be packaged(I could do that for you if you want)
2. there are some blemishes in the transparency

1. Ok i have no idea what i was supposed to do there couldn't find any tutorials.. and yes i used the magical search button
2. If you mean the greenish spots? then those are purposely there as battlescarish marks felt like giving a little more... unperfect-ness to it... and by perfect i mean no scratches no non symmetricity not on the quality of it. Yay new word!... plus! i know the little scratches are hard to see but it adds a  little to it...
