Whenever I click on a link in google search I get redirected to some crappy search engine loaded with ads

It randomly happens and I get different search engines each time

Do I have a virus, and how do I deal with it?

download a program called Malwarbytes. Malwarbytes

boot your machine into safe mode and run malwarbytes.
do the full scan, be patient, it'll take a while.

it will remove any viruses it can find. restart the machine and update your OS.

Note: Don't have more than one anti-virus running on your machine at the same time. this will cause issues. anti-virus programs can occasionally show up as viruses to other AVPs.

Sounds like a adware problem.

1. Get a different browser for temporary use (Ex. IE 9 or Firefox 4)
2. Get Malwarebytes and some free Antivirus software such as Avast! or AVG or Avira
3. Run scan(s)
4. ???
5. Profit
