The Piano

I've decided to make a topic dedicated to this wonderful instrument. I've been playing piano for approximately 11½ years now, and I've taken lessons that entire time. I have also taken an IB Music Theory class in my high school along with much theory in my piano lessons, so I know quite a bit about pianos and the music they can produce.

If you've any interest in learning more about this fantastic instrument, or if you want some tips for playing/practicing, feel free to ask me.

Discuss this beautiful instrument.

OTHER STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW

A piano ≠ a keyboard ≠ an electric piano

i have a keyboard from yamaha.

Pianos are the bomb.

I've always wanted to play it like the Marx brothers. Where once you pound on it enough, it falls apart and you can play it like a harp.

Unfortunately, my piano is electric, and all I've practiced is classical music.

Best electric piano ever.
A video of this wonderful thing.

However, the only keyboards I have on-hand are a Yamaha DX-7 (II) and a microKORG, both my brothers.

I have a K. Kawai
It's a baby grand, barely. It's 6ft 11in

I also love practicing classical music

mkay I'll just say this now.

keyboard ≠ piano

I strongly encourage everyone here that owns a keyboard to get a real piano, if they can afford it. It doesn't have to be a huge grand, it can be an upright; I myself own a Baldwin upright, it looks like this:

actually now that I really look at it, that's the exact same piano I have.

warning while you were typing 2 new blah sghjartsb

also I'm going to elaborate on the difference between pianos/keyboards/electric pianos.

Get with the times, the SA-20 is far superior!

I'm also probably going to upload a video/sound file or two of me playing some stuff; I can play Debussy's Clair de Lune by heart.

SA-20 has no keys, or tones.

BRB takin' pictures of my keyboard.

They are the producers of the stufftiest music out there, but also the most beautiful.

Why stufftiest? Think of a 4 year old finding out about them

well yes but that's not music, that's just noise.

;~; You gotta be sure before you decide this is your life... I don't know personally. People say I have piano fingers, and I'm amused by little things I can do if I'm near one... I'm talking about someone else...
