Author Topic: Holy forget this song has a deep meaning  (Read 4085 times)

I decided to listen to it today, Handlebars by the Flobots, and I thought it was some stupid song about playing music or something, but JESUS CHRIST this song is deep.

Linkity.

It's about corruption in the government, and how controlling they are getting.

The term, "I can ride my bike with no handlebars" must mean that they can live on their own.

Holy crap.

Lol, but I've heard about the whole song before.

Of course I cannot watch it
argh forget

Also the end of the song reminds me of Half Life 2 with the tower.

If you think that has a lot of hidden meaning, go listen to Apostrophe by Frank Zappa, and I'll explain some of it.

Wow that was intense.

I can keep a beat with no metronome too, what's so impressive about that?

You listened to the whole song?

I know the whole song by heart, never realized that though.

You listened to the whole song?

I've heard the song many times lol
though apparently not long enough to remember that it was "keep a rhythm" and not beat.

I've heard it many times and I haven't realized the meaning.

Go listen to Tool
It might be your type of music, but HOLY stuff! They have so wicked lyrics/music.

Vicarious - probably one of their most straight-forward songs, lyric wise.

also: Lateralus - both lyrics and melody are mind-loving on that one.

It's something about how man slowly progresses, building new technology and discoveries, become too power hungry, then we destroy everything in nuclear war, forcing us to start from the beginning again.

Einstein said "I do not know what World War 3 will be fought with, but I know World War 4 will be fought with sticks and stones."

Really?

All I took out of it was a government figure coming to power and becoming oppressive.

I can ride my bike with no hadlebars =

I can live my life with no control.
