Really nice, I think an arena (or as you said:  a pvp area) would be a great addition.

And I think you should add a small valley with climbable hills and some caves in them.

The goal is not detail. More of gameplay, plus I want to keep brick count at a minimum for less lag.

Yeah, besides. It is already pretty well detailed.  I would give it  1000/10, even though its not done yet.
