So I JUST (2 hours ago) Bought a brand new 4gb Xbox 360 S arcade. I recovered my gamertag but whenever I go to "My Xbox" then to "My profile" and hit "A" or "Start" my Xbox freezes. I can click the guide button and it makes a noise but then nothing else. Any clue?

Take out the hardrive.
If that doesn't work, clear the system cache.

when I got my newer slim 4gb xbox, I actually had to return the brand new system itself which was faulty (somehow), and another brand new one worked.

Doesn't come with harddrive, the 4gb is internal.

I'm not sure if you can do it at another gamestop, as mine was an hour away too, but that's like the closest.

I did get a brand new one out from the back, just bring the receipt or something

What you're gonna wanna do is locate the internet vent, here. Then take some chunky peanutbutter, and work it in until it's flush with the surface. This will prime your load caches, and boost your desktop wallpaper.

Hopefully my mom still has the receipt. Even if she doesnt we have proof with credit card. But my dad will be absolutly furious when he finds out. Im even more angry because I worked for awhile to earn the money for this. >_>
