Author Topic: Firefox overreacting about viruses  (Read 974 times)

I was surfing on Google, when the screen went into a small 4x4 box.
When I fixed it,it said the same thing you would expect if Internet Explorer found "virus activity".

Should I change browsers? Or keep Firefox?

Sounds like there's some nasty malware on your PC. Do some scans with Malwarebytes.

Do some scans with Malwarebytes.

I have McAfee, the program that finds Viruses, and only normal viruses. Not hidden,or infected files.

I'll tell you this, McAfee doesn't pick anything up. I'd know, I made the horrible decision of trusting McAfee a long time ago. From what I know, they haven't changed.

Get avast! Antivirus, it's free and so much better than McAfee. Also do some scans with Malwarebytes, like I said.

I can vouch for Miga, McAfee is absolute stuff.  Had it on my laptop, the corporate version anyway, when I wanted to access the school's network.  It's absolute stuff and it just wastes resources.

I have back-up computers,a Windows 95,a Windows NT,and A Mac.
So,i'm ready to see these viruses do there worst.

EDIT:My Window's Firewall is up,I hope no more damage happens.

And what the hell will those do?  Those three are about as useless as McAfee.

Okay, so you're just saying you're going to let whatever is screwing with your system keep going at it?

I'm done helping you then.

EDIT:My Window's Firewall is up,I hope no more damage happens.

Seriously, you think Windows Firewall does something too?!

Your right.

Its a tuned up verison. I downloaded it from a site.
Since McAfee doesn't do stuff,Windows Firewall will remove any viruses,of ANY kind.

Windows Firewall is also absolute stuff and won't do anything.

Stop using stupid things.

Nope,I have a virus removal program

You have McAfee, something that is absolutely horrible and won't pick up ANYTHING. I'm trying to tell you that no matter what, even if McAfee says that your PC is clean, it's most likely not if this stuff is happening, and you need to get a better antivirus like avast! or something that isn't McAfee or Norton.
