You're all just jelly of america.

This guy is an idiot imo.

I read the first few paragraphs, and we have like 8 of the top 10 colleges in the world last I checked.  We probably have the best doctors, considering people who don't make medical school here go to Europe to study medicine.

Yeah, our colleges are very elite. That point arguing against it was a bit shaky in his rant.

Give Obama a dollar, he'll give you Change.
I'll keep my money, You keep your change.

Wait mage, you live in Italy? If it's not too stalkerish, which region?
Fffig. Internet connection failed just as I hit post. D:

Anyway:

I don't live in Italy, but I hold dual-citizenship. I can go back about whenever I wish, I just never had a real oppurtunity to.

But if I did live in Italy, I'd want to live in the South. Maybe Central, like Toscana or Lazio, but I'd prefer Campnia or Calabria. The economy may be bad, but hey, what are reformations for? Italy's big on change. :3

Oh, I see. Good to know, I guess.

And upon delving further into this well thought out article, I see that he believes the government is watching my every move.

I'm 15, italian-american, and in the upper-middle class.  They are not watching me.  And even if they were, what do I have to hide?  I'm a law abiding citizen, as you most likely are.
-snip-
Mage Italians are so lazy.  They'll be farming, lose a few cow in the mountains, then go home and eat some cheese.

They are so laid back, it's awesome. :P

Americans work like dogs
If so, why can Mexicans find work so easily? Duh, They work harder and for less. Some people need to be pushed off their high horse.

This gets me. Shouldn't the Government need a Warrant to even enter your home without consent?

They do, unless they have reason to believe you are destroying evidence.

Dolce far niente, my dear...But when Italians work, we really work. Diligence is important.

But so is cheese, so it all balances out.

Isn't that the fourth amendment? I am probably wrong about that though.

Freedom is the ability to do what you please to a reasonable extent, at least that's how it's applied in the US. He (guy who wrote the whole thing) appears to be associating "freedom" with being monitored.

We have 10 times the freedom some nations do, I don't see how he can complain about that. Sure, we may be monitored (a lot less intensely than he describes, btw) but if you're not breaking the law, you shouldn't mind. The government isn't using your personal information for their own causes. I digress...anyway, we have the freedom to do whatever want that's bound by legality, and if we the people see the legality unjust we have the right to protest it. That's pretty damn free if you ask me.

Let's look at China. My friend spent a semester there, and had to use VPN to access skype. She had to use a proxy to access Facebook, and a bunch of other sites. People over there are worked harder, longer, and with less pay.

Overall, this block of text in the OP seems to pick out the faults of our nation and blow them out of proportion. Each nation has their downsides of course, no nation is perfect, but I have this feeling that whoever wrote it had a particularly horrible experience with something in the US...maybe he drew the short straw in life, who knows. All I can say for sure is that none of this is THAT horrible. People are getting by just fine as a whole, though reforms are necessary in areas of food production for example.

Probable Cause only lasts for like an hour, right?
