I'm not going to pull a Stocking here and insult you before I apologize, but basically, the last comment was uncalled for.
It was just funny that you said you were not in the "mood" for jokes, when obviously, why would you not be in the mood for jokes. They're funny. It's like not being in the mood for happiness.

EXAMPLE.
You wouldn't be in the mood for happiness if someone died five minutes prior to your friend walking in and saying something hilarious.
Now that is when you wouldn't be in the mood.
