No it shouldn't. Who really gives two forgets if someone lies about their gender? I remember voice chatting with some friends and we invited Stocking to play Warzone 2100. Her mic was supposedly not working and it's pretty damn obvious but I didn't give a stuff. I simply enjoyed the match. If she is pretending (most likely) you guys are only giving her the satisfaction of CARING.

I don't recall the rules saying anything about it (though perhaps I should look at every single rule-topic again), and I don't know if it is considered to be one of those "unwritten rules".

I think it depends on the situation. It's sometimes nice to make a WELL DEVELOPED introduction topic to give a little bit of info on yourself to better acquaint yourself to the community. You can simply say whether you're male or female in a single sentence but if you rant about it for a few paragraphs I guess I can understand. Though it's partly our faults because I know a few friends from real life who are female and pretend to be male online just to avoid issues like this.

It's pretty much the internet's fault for giving attention to female members or members pretending to be female.

The girls here who are actually girls are probably COMPLETELY messed up. Most of the girls we have around here don't even play the game. They are just desperate enough completely random forum about a building block game. Of course they probably only stay because you give them what they want. But I think if girls want to flirt with some horny nerds on the internet, they should do it on a forum relevant to something they are actually interested in.
