How horrific. I can't imagine being in a situation like this. If anything the mother would be thankful for you attempting to help the kid. You were really brave to do that. At least the last moments he had weren't alone. I do hope the mother is alright. The truck driver is probably going to feel guilty for this all of his remaining life. It's a traumatic experience for probably everyone in the cul-de-sac.
