Author Topic: The Infamous Fake Anti-Virus, Virus  (Read 527 times)

Just randomly popped up on my computer now.  It tries running scans, and I keep stopping it.  It doesn't seem to do much except randomly pop up in the bottom right of my screen every 2 seconds saying Avast.exe is infected.  It's also trying to imitate official Windows messages.  They did a good job in that, but I'm not falling for it.

forget you MS Removal Tool, and the messed up dipstuffs that made it.
I'm running a full scan on Avast, would that be enough?

YOU REQUIRE ADDITIONAL MALWARE BYTES.

And spybot.

And backup AVG.

Oh wow, all that?

Atleast I'm not my mom, or my sister.  They only have Norton.

This is the only thing you need if you have avast! antivirus.
Run scans with MalwareBytes and avast! and see if anything comes up.
Also make sure the avast! real-time shields are enabled and working.

Norton has protected my computer from everything. Hell, just the other day it found a Trojan.

Norton's broken a few of my computers.

I don't recommend it. I stopped trying when I got my Alienware.

It's Norton. It does that.

I heard it's always been over-protective about eveything, and picks out false virus'.

Malware Bytes didn't get to start scanning untill Avast picked it out, and got rid of it.
