Rooting isn't dangerous at all, the only way you can end up bricking it is if you somehow stop ClockworkMod from flashing CyanogenMod to your device, and even then, you'll just have to use HTC's ROM update utility to get back onto the stock ROM and do it again.
Ah.Well, I tried running Z4, and it looked like it had finished up and returned me to the homescreen but it just made my phone slower (I rebooted it and it was fine again). ROM Manager also said I hadn't rooted it.What am I doing wrong? ;-;EditNvm, I googled it and the Wildfire isn't compatible with Permanent root. :(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953
Yup, looks like your phone's one of those harder-to-root HTC phones. However, no all hope is lost. Here's a guide straight from the CyanogenMod wiki:http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/HTC_Wildfire:_Full_Update_Guide
Thanks, I'll check it out later. :)editAnd is that temporary or permanent?
Ok so I got up to Step 5 but unrEVOked wont recognise my phone when I plug it in. :(
Do you have HBOOT's driver installed?
Yeah, I installed them.Should I try reinstalling them?
Yeah. Also try running it in the bootloader (I don't remember how to get HTC devices into their bootloader, so look it up)
When running unrEVOked.
Hey guys my Iphone is broken and because of that I had to restore it. However I can't get it activated. Does anyone know a way of activating it without a sim card?
Press and hold volume buttons while turning on.
