O REALLY

Im not that stupid.

What. I was talking to Joker, telling him it was a metaphor.

Real life thermal scopes have hit markers? I thought that was only in video games!

OnTopic.

Dude, sweet gig.

Get some comic books to read on the way to/from target. I met a friend online, who works with the coastgaurd And he operates the turret when they go patrol for pirate. And to pass the time he reads comics.

Wait, who joined the power rangers?

I wasn't listening.

Those damn crack whore teddy bears.. 'bout time someone dealt with 'em.

I think you're a little confused.  Either that or your recruiter mislead you.

If you enlisted, you are not going to be an Apache gunner.  Apache gunners double as Apache pilots (i.e. both the front and back seater are qualified pilots and gunners) and pilots in Army Aviation are commissioned officers or warrant officers.  In order to be a pilot you would have to go through ROTC, OCS, West Point, or Warrant Officer Candidacy.  The closest you will get on the enlisted side to Apaches is to be a crew chief (the E-5 to E-7 who is responsible for ensuring his assigned aircraft are maintained - he does not fly).

Did you enlist under the Ranger Contract?  That means you will first go through Infantry BCT in Ft. Benning, GA and immediately following graduation will report to 75th Ranger Regiment for RIP.

Most likely the recruiter, I had ROTC in high school, though. I did enlist under the ranger contract, so I guess that means i'm most likely going to be infantry?

Also, I guess that means my 2 years in Aviation didn't do stuff for me, right?

JROTC only counts for college credits once you get to college.  It doesn't have any influence on your rank or MOS once you enlist.  The only way to become an officer or warrant officer is to complete one of the courses I listed.

Yes, you are most likely going to be an infantryman, probably 11B or some other 11 series MOS (11 meaning infantry and B meaning rifleman - it is the most basic infantry MOS).  You don't necessarily have to be an infantryman to go through Ranger School.  A large number of other MOS's are able to do it (like aviation or armor specific MOS's) but the 11 series is the most common.

Did you enlist into the Guard, Reserve, or Active?

Active.

Nice.

I enlisted three years ago as 11C (mortarman) in the Guard.  Since then I went through two years of ROTC and commissioned May of last year branched Aviation, active.

I'm going through flight school in Alabama right now.  Select my advanced airframe (Blackhawks, Apaches, Kiowas, or Chinooks) soon.  Plan on going to Ranger after graduation.

If you have any questions, let me know.  Welcome to the Army.
