I have no idea why he was banned, but I'm going to say my hypothesis and you guys can fill in the errors:

His intentions were good, but however offering a service that is completely free yet requires you to enter a key is certainly a scam.

He was banned for being an alt, I think.

It didn't require you to enter a key, that was just an option.

The sevice never actually happened, the whole topic was just spam and Pacnet raging stupidly.

Only two of the people who posted on the origional topic ever got servers.
And those was only for a short bit of time.
And that was a short bit of time, with plenty of lag, not actually being the host, and none of the servers ever got many players to really test how well he could host.
