So, I have this 2001 Gateway computer (I think an E3000 or something), and I really want to upgrade it, so I can't get off this stuffty laptop, and actually have use for the desktop.
I found this cheap, but amazing upgrade kit:

But, will I be able to upgrade my computer smoothly? Or will there be problems with size, compatibility, and etc?

It's the same with all other computers. You buy parts that are compatible with it. If you don't know how to look for compatible replacement parts, You're the kind of person who will need the GeekSquad to do it for you.
