I have this horrible habit of doing some work on a drawing, telling myself I'm going to call it a day and work on it tomorrow so I don't strain my eyes, then going back and saying "well maybe I could just shade the hair or whatever" and usually end up finishing the whole piece in one sitting and my eyes hurt at the end of it.

it allows you to come back and look at it again. you might see mistakes you want to correct that you didn't notice before.

just take a 30 minute break if it bothers you

i need background ideas, namely the plains below the cliff they are on (like, directly behind Discord, above the bold cliff-line)
it needs to feel like they are on top a high mountain cliff

also i can't seem to figure out Discord's deer leg lol
i've drawn it several times and can't find a position or angle in which it looks fine

To be fair, RL horses do something similar. People do the same thing as well, just with our arms and in varied states.
