It's not quality I'm talking about, it's just the ease of accessibility between the pen and surface. I feel like I'm actually drawing when I have a direct contact with screen. There is no "disconnection factor" with those types of tablets, and is most like pen and paper. It makes drawing easier and better looking. Why do you think companies have those huge-ass tablets in their offices? In fact, a lot of colleges that teach digital art have them too. It's just plain superior.

I was always bad at physical media but this has been a lot easier to get a hold of. Just works for me I guess.

it doesn't take long to get use to the non-screen tablets. i've been using them for a few years and it's practically second-nature now, though it didn't really take long to get the hang of anyway.


i'll agree that the cintiqs are top of the line, but i can't drop a couple thousand dollars for equipment like that yet. it was easier to just buy a intous5 ($350) after my bamboo ($60) and i feel it was a great investment
plus, who knows perhaps i'll get some sort of student discount when i transfer in two years
