Okay, we'll go with that. <3

aaaight so I see you sincerely hate me for no other reason either than existing
never heard that one before
nope
You're not important or influential to many people so I don't really care what you think of me. It's like a private telling a private he's worthless.Might as well of just said "your a loving loving loving loving starfish :(""loving loving loving forgetass"it's one of the top JROTC schools in the countryI've actually heard this one many times before. It usually comes from people who are either scared of military training or just hate the military for no reason.
Again, private telling a private he's worthless.
my father is an Army recruiter.
i'd think i'd know a thing or two about what you're going through.

JROTC is not a school to train pricks, kid.
it's a school to train the youngsters about the Military and all the jobs available as well as benefits for those jobs (college credits, tricare, etc.) as well as run-throughs of basic training and other essential things raw recruits should expect.
i get 1-UPs from him whenever i ask questions, because i HAVE considered enlisting.

you obviously haven't been paying enough attention in school, being that the only thing you've learned is to be an ass.
come back to me when you learn actual knowledge of the Military, then we'll talk.

and if you have this strange personal belief that knowing this stuff makes you a badass (because that's how you've been acting), it doesn't. you're nowhere near it until you're actually in the action, even then you're not really 'badass'

compared to you, i'm a goddamn Staff Sargent for all you know

How about you shut the forget up.
This isn't for you to grudge match others because you're flaunting military knowledge.

No wonder this thread has too much traffic.

Why do you guys want to enlist, I'm sincerely curious?
I mean I just think why throw your life away when you could be at home with a steady job and a nice family? Like I understand people will respect you and stuff but I don't see the appeal, not to insult any veterans.

>Go to play Minecraft with a couple friends for a while.
>Come back a few hours later to this topic.
>Argument.

You guys are sad.

it's not really throwing your life away (Infantry is more towards that because they're all dumbasses).
you can settle with a family, it's just if there's a conflict going on, you'll most likely be called in to be deployed overseas with your company.

and i want to enlist because i want the very good benefits from joining the army. and each job offers different benefits, so i'm still debating which to go for.
and besides, i'd like to follow in my father's footsteps.
before he was a recruiter, he got an E6 paygrade, which is quite a few thousand a month, which is just fine for supporting a family if you live on an army post (Ft. Riley for example) or if you are living by yourself.

a bonus: even when he leaves the army to retire, his Tricare he had put on the entire family is still in effect, even if i don't decide to enlist.

if you're not infantry or w/e, what do you do?
I don't know much about the military, but I do know there are a LOT of technical jobs out there, not just jobs that require combat training and get you sent to war if a conflict starts.

i was thinking Combat Engineer like my father, but there's so much more jobs out there.

this is mostly true.
but most jobs, even the Veterinarian jobs they now offer, will probably require weapons training along with basic training.
