From what I've had the misfortune of seeing, anthro characters are portrayed as sentient.
If it's not being a furry it's being a xenophile which is almost if not just as bad.

We can call all women bad drivers, but only if they actually are, then they'd get offended. If you aren't what they're accusing (if it does not apply to you), then you have no reason to get angry.
