well, tf2 has a megathread, yet everyone posts stuff from it outside of the thread. :)
i don't see anyone complaining.

Well either:
1. It's not a show about sparkling little ponies. You can't hide from this fact forever.
2. People barely see any TF2 related things outside the megathread
3. There's a bigger audience of people whom like TF2 than MLP FiM
