I think the best example of a backseat moderator would be feep. He tells the Bronies what to do and spams the topic to try and "enforce" it.

there are people that bump it just so it stays bumped

but I will agree that they have added almost as much to the topic as we have, we'd probably be at ~2500 pages if it weren't for arguments.
