i plan on claiming it in the name of the NLR.
I'm going to go all out and point out some things about the figureheads of the Solar Empire and Lunar Republic.
Obviously, I'm going to do it from a canon point of view and not fanon.
Celestia is the only one of the two princess that has demonstrated proper ruling experience. She is the only one we've actually gotten to know, and would be the more obvious choice. She has proven to be the kind, forgiving, and rather chill-type. There has yet to be anything shown that makes her less desirable as a ruler.
Luna on the other hand, is only known as a traitor (harsh, but true). One whose jealousy got the better of her. She tried to harm, not protect during the fight between the sisters. She only has two points going for her, 1) they worked together to stop Discord and save the ponies 2) she supposedly wants forgiveness and a second chance. Because of her lack of show-time, we don't know much of her true personality. She could be the sweetest thing since Fluttershy, or more nitpicky than Rarity.
Therefore, siding with Luna (AT CURRENT) would be unwise. I wouldn't feel safe with her as ruler right now.
I'm not against Luna here, I'm just pointing out the facts. I rather enjoy her involvement and hope it goes well. At this point we simply can't trust her yet.
