it has a good storyline
it has good animation
it has realistic characters, all of whom have flaws
it has truly good fanfics

It's just a cartoon.

The fact that the show revolves around cartoon horses doesn't bother me, as I've watched shows revolved around a felt-blue puppy, a bear that had various animals friends along with a human friend, and that cartoon movie series about a long-necked dinosaur that loved treestars.

In the end, it's something you enjoy or it's something you don't.
