the pink mane was around before JJ started doing molestia.
in the fanon world, it's suppose to be celestia's mane before luna was banished. it started because of the
book scene in Episode 1.
if I recall correctly, people now use the excuse that this color is what Celestia's mane looks like when she is powerless/magicless, like Luna when Nightmare Moon was defeated, her light blue non-transparent mane which later became a darker transparent sparkly one.
