I don't join any RPs since I'm always out of the loop and it seems like whatever I do I get farther and farther behind
depends on the kind of RP usually
if it's all LASERS EXPLOSIONS ALIENS METEORS DRAGONS EARTHQUAKE action then i have the exact same problem
otherwise if it's sort of a "casual" RP you could call it, it's not that hard to keep up
if you can't think of anything to do in a casual non-actiony RP, just think of something you could do in real life. note i said "could" and not "would", you can basically do and be anything you want as long as it's within character and doesn't make you look like a massive godmod
if your character is an emotionless shell than you're better off just not RPing
