but no seriously as long as there's fan content there will be fans, and with the amount of creativity in the fandom it'll probably last quite a bit after the end of G4, perhaps even with a fanmade revival of the series.

and based on the success of G4, I think there will be more generations following this one.

A good chuck were only in it for the show. Those who don't really care for the fan-media and whatnot probably won't stick around for much longer once it ends. I'm not sure what I'll do once it's over, sure I'll probably watch it again and assuming I can create nice art I will do that as well, but the what else will there be to do?

I suppose I could also get into the fiction side of things, there would be no more canon information available so creating stories would be more appropriate at that point.

We'll all see how it plays out. Generation 5 might also be another nice comeback, or they might not get anywhere with it.
