What you should do is try to redraw some of the characters from the show, use references.
You'll get more of a feel of how the ponies bodys are, leg length, head size, ect.

I kinda find it hard going about redrawing the shows Mane 6. I look at them all the while, but can't seem to get one part right or another. I have bookmarked tutorials, paused episodes/ fan videos, and probably compared some drawings to the better artists here.

Guess I should keep going...

Still its brony fan made stuff, I consider any lineage to the show something that has to deal with the show. Albeit its not going on the actual Season 3, it will be the first actual episode, legalized by Hasbro, produced by an animator outside of Hasbro.

I consider it a pioneer in the field, and certainly not the last.
