seriously, any of these would have been a better pet. the owl obviously wasn't going to win because Twilight has Owlicious. the bat would have been awesome, the falcon would have been awesome, even eagles are awesome.

the only reason there would be a "moral" is because the tortoise saved her and she was guilt-tripped. (again, Hasbro already chose a tortoise for Rainbow Dash in one of the toysets so the story was tied down anyway)
we saw the cartoon tortoise throughout the episode, and we haven't seen him since if I recall correctly. lol

i've never liked turtles/tortoises/alike and i think it's lame that they forced it unto Rainbow when she clearly didn't want it and really never would have had it not been pushed in.
