so anyone who saw my last rant knows i'm trying to figure out a personal style
i haven't gotten there yet, but i think i found the road to it

the one on the left is a trace from this. i basically created a twilight model to work off of (many layers of each piece of her body)
the one of the right is my first attempt at trying to modify it to create a style.




i don't know if this is the usual method for other artists when it comes to this sort of thing, but i've got no alternatives. i assume this will take many different attempts, and perhaps this method is wrong and i'll have to figure it out some other way. eitherway, i feel like i'm making some sort of progress in this area.

obviously the trace looks better. it's a trace from the show.
the second is suppose to be different. trying to change things up to where i like it. haven't gotten there yet and i honestly don't know how to either.

thanks to recent support from /r/mlpdrawingschool, i think i might be able to solve my problem. "anatomy" is the key word apparently, style includes more than what I was thinking. (why i thought that i dunno, i dont think clearly when it comes to finding help)

for anyone curious, basically "find a style you like and mimic the piece." there is also some bi-weekly challenge post that goes along with said advice. i'm rather excited, perhaps this will be what gets me where i'm wanting to go. i have an account full of favorites, so many styles to try out.

on a more related note, the hub sent out an "exclusive" promo to equestria daily. i'd assume it's likely the commercial they'll be airing. it'll likely contain some scenes from episode 1 or 2, so i'll skip watching it to obviously avoid spoilers.
