The animators, you can't get smooth lines that from pencil or marker.

the show itself is created using Flash
aka, it's digital

is this what you mean by smooth lines?

because this is just me doing a few lines in paint tool sai with a tablet

Hell that's beautiful

yeah, like that.

pen drawing tablet + digital art program = profit

is painttool sai digital program?

is painttool sai digital program?

yes
it's an art program, a bit more basic than photoshop. very useful and my personal choice for artwork. it's not free though last i checked (fairly certain it has a 31-day free trial). the only free programs i know of are paint.net and gimp, but i've never used them for real art work and don't know if they're decent choices

Yeah you really need a tablet to draw smooth stuff.

Edit: Don't let that stop you from drawing with a mouse though you can still do incredible stuff with it and it will also benefit you greatly with drawing in general still.

there is still the vector graphics alternative (illustrator/inkscape)
you can get the same smooth line result with or without tablets, you'd just have to learn it

Inkscape bugs me only because it shows a 1px line even if you're using a bigger size, not much of a problem when you can freely move things around but it still bugs me nonetheless

Every guy I meet that likes ponies in real life is weird as forget, I think it's the ones that make it known that are weird.
I sort of like ponies, but I don't show it off in public.

I have a sister and 2 friends who are bronies and a pegasister, and aren't really very weird.

They also think clopping is sick.

Some of the best from the dancing link in my opinion because i said so.
