I'm an animator and I can safely say we don't use vectors we use something similar called Vaticular Point Omission in combination with a Alagoric Algorithm it allows us too move stuff around easier then Vectors.

Another thing I just realized:
I suffer from Pony Withdrawal within five minutes of not focusing on ponies.
It sucks to have my mind sometimes.
