They sure don't seem to understand the extent to which we oppose their plan. Honestly, the show would lose... just about everything that makes it worth watching. No more lessons on friendship. No more common everyday ponyville. And honestly, they don't think they can SERIOUSLY depict the ACCURATE consequences on Twilight's relationship with her friends? The ACCURATE consequences, the REAL consequences, would be devastating, leaving Twilight alone and alienated. Never again would she know if people were being nice because they were her friends or being nice because she was a princess with power and prestige. Just like the whole "gala ticket" thing. Imagine that every single day of her life. That would be accurate consequences to a princess coronation if she stayed in Ponyville. But maybe they WON'T depict the ACCURATE consequences. And then the show loses some of it's charm, because we honestly know too well to see the no-consequences depiction as being remotely possible in any universe, ANYWHERE.

I don't see how this show can go on if Twilight gets turned into an Alicorn.

The only reason that they would do this in my mind is if they were ending the show. After all, becoming a princess or whatever is apparently Twilight's ultimate goal. So once she's a princess, nothing will ever be the same. The show will lose all charm, everything that made it what it was. I can see it now, our heroes, our characters, turning into empty meaningless shells of trying to save a series killed by a bad idea. That's why you ALWAYS leave a series with an open ending. That way, the fans can keep it alive, within themselves, continuing it in their own way. So the end of the series is option 1.

There is no loving way that Twilight can become a loving alicorn princess and not leave her friends like that. This show is about to become the biggest disappointment in the history of network television. I don't think the storywriters realize just how many of their fans oppose this plan, but there's no good way to make them understand. That's the problem. All of us collectively should actually hold an enormous amount of power, but without any organization, none of us are ever going to do a damn thing as the show we loved crumbles.
